Better late than ever, it's The 7th Annual Cheapy Awards, the only awards that recognize the best (and worst) in video game retail, nominate and voted on by the Cheap Ass Gamers, the most knowledgeable video game shoppers in the world!

Some of my friends, formerly of the Microsoft Gamerscore Blog team made the best of a bad situation and founded their own company, Promethium Marketing, a social media and community marketing agency. After working on high profile titles such as Madden NFL 10, Tekken 6, Shadow Complex and Windows 7, they have just released their first iPhone game called Tweet Defense. Tweet Defense is a tower defense game that allows you to leverage the strength of your Twitter account to increase the range of your towers. Your Friends, followers, and tweet statistics will translate into more range for your towers. Additionally, if you follow the Featured Booster Twitter account, you can use the Booster Tower to power up your towers further.

I provided some "voice work" (read: groans) for a zombie and also happen to be the current Featured Booster. And so ends this unpaid solicitation of my friends' game.

We've launched a new weekly contest that will allow CAGs to win any game on their Wish List. Every Wednesday, we will choose CAGs' Wish Lists at random and award those users any $60 or under game on their list.

The ever-vengeful Kratos returns to even the score against the Olympians in the final installment of the God of War trilogy. From the moment I first seized control of Kratos, I knew I was in for another fantastic adventure. The game begins as you climb about every known angle atop a skyscraper-sized Titan who is in turn scaling Mount Olympus. All the while the both of you are engaged in a blood-gushing battle against the enormous horse-tentacled Sea God, Poseidon. It’s stunning, it’s gruesome, it’s epic, and it’s a blast to play. Yup, it’s another tremendous God of War game and I’m willing to say that the trilogy’s culmination is the best one yet.

CAGs have been requesting this feature for a long time so I'm pleased to announce that our Trade-In Value Tracker is now available in an open beta. Gamers can now easily browse, search, and submit trade-in values from online and brick & mortar retailers.

Currently, the trade-in value data is entirely user submitted. In the near future, we hope to automate submissions where possible.

Chances are pretty good that if you’re visiting Cheap Ass Gamer, you probably have a firm grasp on what the God of War franchise is all about. While I’m not quite as certain that every CAG is as intimately familiar with Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, I’ll give everyone the benefit of the doubt and assume that we are all extremely well-read. To put it bluntly, Dante’s Inferno unapologetically combines the two into a new videogame. Is this amalgamation of classic literature and modern classic gameplay a blessed union, or is the descent into Hell a bumpy ride?
